Even if we tell you the procedure you would need special equipment to perform read/write operations on firmware like pc3000.

I have another problem.
When I set the safe mode on Maxtor DM+8 (lower two pins short near 40 pin '_::)
the platter spins up. Is it correct?
Maybe just the head not moving...

The situation is the same on other motherboard, and with another DM+9.

If you put maxtor in safe, the platers should not spin.

The safe mode is another theme. Maybe OFF.
