Need some help with donor disk checking.
I have:
Fujitsu MHV2080BH
PART No.: CA06672-B43300F1
Date: 2006-11
0BDD7C-00000029
Firmware: 00000029
with damaged PCB (spindle driver is hot, drive does not start)
For donor I have possibility of buying disk:
Fujitsu MHV2080BH
PART No.: CA06672-B43300F1
Date: 2006-11
0BDD7B-00000029 (here is ...7B, not 7C)
Firmware: 00000029
Will it work after PCB changing?

Possibly, but not so likely.
Well worth a try though.

Sorry, the date of donor is 2006-06.
I haven't any other way, so I decided to buy this donor and change PCB.

Post the results please, would be interesting.
I have had mixed success in replacing MHV PCB's, sometimes they work even with different f/w. But mostly not and require ROM transfer.

I'm also interested what will be effect

Now some days needed to ordering a donor disk.

I have changed new PDB today.
Disk is spinning, but not seen in bios...

...need to transfer ROM to new PCB...

I am very curious as to how this one works out..Isn't the ROM embedded in MCU. MCU heatsunk to PCB..

I don't understand. Do You suggest that ROM is embedded in MCU?

Disk was working with new PCB. Problem was funny - my SATA cable was damaged because any other good disk didn't work with this cable

Theese PCB's are compatible.
