i'm not a soldering guru, where do i get such resistors, and how hard would they be to replace?

Check the two resistors with an ohmmeter for continuity and correct value (e.g. 221 = 220 ohms). If the solder pads are intact on both ends of the resistors, it should be a simple matter to reattach them using a little liquid flux, 63/37 solder, and a proper soldering iron. If you can't do this yourself, go to an electronics repair shop or data recovery firm. Unless something else is messed up, it is no big deal . . .

No . Ask a local skilled technician , they should be able to deal with SMD components.

My brother has a soldering iron, but i'm leaning towards going w/ a local skilled technician. looking in the yellow pages, i'm looking under "computer technician", is there a more technical term? i couldn't find any "electronics technician" listings on yellowpages.com

Normally any local shop that sells electronic components should be able to do it.

In the USA, many places that sell components do no in-house service (e.g. Radio Shack).
I suggest a TV or video repair shop, if they still exist . . .
