maxtore one touch 4 : data unaccessible

Hi everybody, im new of this forum and i hope to find a solution for my problem.
I have a maxtore one touch 4 500 G. The problem is that all datas became unaccessible. The first time, this problem occurred when the HD was in the external unity MAXTOR ONE TOUCH 4 500 G. After, I have tried to use the HD as internal sata HD, but after about one month the problem has reappeared, with new data.
I tried this drive on windows xp sp2, sp3, and on ubuntu but the resultis the same.
I report main characteristics about the internal HD:

500 Gbytes
S/N: 6QG1L0WF
ST3500630AS
P/N: 9BJ146-568
Firmware:3.AFM
Date Code: 08161
Site Code: SU
i have contacted support of seagate but they only advise me to replace my drive. Unfortunately my warranty expired since i've dismounted this drive

Just curious : what do you mean "data unaccessible" ? Drive seen as RAW / UNFORMATTED or not shown on BIOS / DISK MANAGEMENT ?

Per curiosità, cosa si intende per "DATI NON ACCESSIBILI" ? Disco che compare come non formattato o capacita' zero oppure neanche riconosciuto in BIOS / risorse del computer?

For data unaccessible i mean that when i try to explore directories the message returned is "impossible to access to ... access denied"
the drive is recognized by the system,both linux and windows.
Also i tried to memorize new data on it and this ones are accessible....but i dont now how long, since this problem has occurred twice yet.
