Hello Gurus,
Can you tell me please if WD1600BEVT-75ZCT2 match for WD1600BEVS-22RST0. Because I need PCB for WD1600BEVS-22RST0 and found only that replacement in the local market.

Also can anyone please please tell how to know the perfect match for your WD drives?

Thank you in advance,
Mob

You need to match the PCB#, for the older WD drives, you may be able to match the 2 main chips on the PCB to make it work but I don't think these new ROYL ramilies will work like that...

Good Luck for your search!!!

Thank you guys I think you are right. In fact I tested it but it didn't work.

What do you think the problem is when you turn on the hdd and heare a very low electronic sound keeps sounding four or five times and then stops.

First you should diagnose the problem correctly. Secondly, a PCB swap even with identical is only the beginning...you need to create original ROM from modules OR move entire MCU from old PCB to new one (assuming PCB is really at fault). However, I have seen many of these drives with heads stuck to platters while unable to park correctly onto ramp. Probably this problem or motor is my guess. either way, this problem would likely be too difficult to solve by anyone who would not know this answer already...
