Hi to all
My Wd scorpio Blue 320 is going bad.
Has lots of bad sector in a small palce.
I can isolate them but but i would like to fix them. they are just logical bad sectors and when i what to recover them with HDD Regenerator i have an error " HDD is not ready" eventhought i recovered almost 150 of them.
This happened when i copied 12 gig of of data with about 25000 files. temp was 45 during the copy.
From data guard i get this error
Test Error Code: 06-Quick Test on drive 1 did not complete! Status code = 04 (Unknown failed test element), Failure Checkpoint = 96 (Unknown Test) SMART self-test did not complete on drive 1!
from wrote zero i got seek not completed error code 0108
have WD HDD for almost 10 years and they still work just perfect.
SMART status was

If it is within warranty send it back. Fixed today; broken again tomorrow!

I'm not sure what you're talking about lowering the reallocated sector count to 21... In the first SMART log you have 616 reallocateds, and in the second log you have 661. Attribute is at 117 and threshold was 140 so your drive is not going to be getting any less bad.

Ok so what i meant about reallocated sector count to 21 is that with hdd regenerator i managed to fix lots of bad sectors and after that it it started another problem, seek error rate.
I spoke with ED and they sad i should return but i have bought this hdd with laptop, my laptop warranty is over for 1-2 months now.
sorry about late reply wasn't home for a while

In my limited experience once a HD starts showing bad sectors (especially discovering a lot in a short period of time) it's time to RMA or throw out the drive... if you value your data and system integrity, of course. Using magic programs such as HDD regenerator is just (slightly) prolonging the inevitable. Don't risk it.

HDs typically have warranties longer than 12 months so it's likely your WD Scorpio Blue is still within its own warranty. You don't usually need a receipt as the warranty term is linked to the manufacture date of the drive. You can check here:
