Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Hi,
A have an external Toshiba USB-drive (actually with a SATA 500Gb Western disk inside).
The disk has crashed and I want to replace it with a 1Tb Seagate Barracuda.
Is this possible or has the USB-bay some hardware limit?
Thanks!

Should work if the usb-bay is recent.
Try it, it cannot harm the drive.
However, if Seagate is a good choice
