hi all
i have the above drive that is spinning up, clicking a couple of times and then spinning down, but getting ready.
the drive will then show the wrong ID, firmware, serial and capacity
trying to enter terminal does not give anything,

the drive lable is ST31500341AS
firmware CC1H

the drive is showing under PC3000 as
ST-Ml3fqbl
QNR-bfw( incorrect serial number)
1117F38F( incorrect firmware)
3.86GB

just wondering if anyone has come accross this for this drive. can this be a head issue ?

Thank you

I was facing same same problem in Seagate 500 GB Es.2 No access to terminal. I have suspect Rom Issue. Even changed the PCB abut No Success. Even if I put it on Doner Disk Doner shows Garbage detection. but both disks were spinning and initializing. perfectly. Retured the disk back to customer :(

Termainal is blocked in this FW until the drive inits fully (which is not going to happen with bad heads)
