Do partitions have anything to do with platters?

November 20th, 2009, 10:09

if i partitioned a hard drive in the middle. does it mean c: wil be on one platter and d: on the other if there are 2 platters?
(i think i have 3 platters, does it mean first and half of the second c: and the rest d:?)

or is it just division of the data and has nothing to do with the pysical place of the data.
