Hi,

Anyone knows could bearing removal by Sergey Yatsenko method work on Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 ST3300831A? Or its only for IV?
Any other method beside platter transplant and turning spindle tool maybe? Tried to free it, but could only spin the platters with force and heads are not stuck...

Thanks

Wow do you have the proper tools and clean room to do this job with. Seagate alignment of platters is not an easy one or even head change on these drives. You need special tools and know how to do this one. Seem to me you data is not important to you and you have now lost a lot of your chance to ever find it back again. Others here have done as you and now their platters are either smashed into a thousand pieces, or are used for making art pictures.

You can search here on the forum there is a spindle motor tools that was desinged by a DR company and still might be available to purchase. Also you can search there is another company who has designed head swaping tools to use on this drive. Good luck on your research on this one. But try to make a tool for you to use in the head swaping of this drive multiple heads need to be kept aligned in order to guarantee sucess.
