I'm located in Ohio, US. Would one of you direct me to a person or company that can recover data from a Seagate 7200.7 ST3160021A. After google'ing various companies...I'm just not comfortable picking one out randomly.

The prices of several of the individuals on this board are within my price range...but they are always located overseas (not sure if that is a problem or not). Can someone point me to an exact company or person that will evaluate my drive. I just can't bear the thought of picking a company at random.

Sincerely,
soc

i365 is owned by Seagate, so if anyone could do it I bet they could.

Granted your top-tier recovery companies are probably going to be more expensive.

And that is the problem I'm having... for many people (like myself)...the data may be worth a few hundred+ dollars. But I can't imagine many people spending thousands of dollars on pictures and school papers. For a business...data recovery is a "no brainer"...but it's very hard to get a recovery service to give you a hard number. I understand the reason for this...but it doesn't make it any easier as a potential customer.

As for me, I just want to give this as a gift to someone (old pictures they thought they had lost)...but I just can't afford to spend thousands of dollars it. Thank you for the pm's I've received...I'm going to send the drive out and see how it goes.
