I have a st3160022ace pulled from a set top dvr box. it seems to firmware limited to 20gb. is there a flash firmware file to open up the 160gb the drive should have?

After reading many of the other posts, you are probably right , it is most likely an hpa issue. i will try to use the hdd capacity restore tool from this website.
