You can remove it and get back your data it is a TVS that is cracked.

Hitachi preamp is really sensitive for power spike, and this model have only TVS in 12V line.
I suggest to check the preamp first before powerup the drive if you want to avoid data area damage...

How do I do a preamp. This is first time I tried working on a controller card
