Gurus can u share u r experience what is the chances to recover data from physical failure if we have same model Donor i just want to know what is the chances in percentage % .

Nobody here can give a % that will be the same as you. Procedures, tools, precision, experience etc all have an impact on the % success. Every DR firm and every DR guy is dfferent and you will not get the same answer from any 2 people.

You wil understand what I mean if you do physical work yourself.

But the fact you ask this question suggests you are not very experienced in this area. For this reason you should practise practise and then practise some more. Do not put clients data at risk if you are unsure how to deal with it.


Also, I think the success will vary by manufacturer also.

i am doing Physical Recovery past 2 years i got success almost all drives just wanna know others views in it.

vague question all in all. Define physical work? A case of dead heads with no damage to surface? Or a platter transplant on a 8 headed drive that was bathed with Noxzema?

I would ask : what if there is a good ring on surface OR / maybe on a Hitachi VLAT...

I had to give up on many case just because it was not worth and didn't ask me a recovery AT ANY COST (and it was obviously impossible to recover 100% data, unless someone has a method for rebuilding data from the dust on the filter....)

You don't have to backup all of your files, just the ones you want to keep.

The only way that this is possible is if you are getting easy, non severe crashes. We quite frequently get drives that, literally, don't have any surface left (you can see right through them). There are also times when data recovery is theoretically possible, if the client is willing to pay the price for the multiple head replacements that are likely required to work around the surface damage.
