Hi again
Got another drive by HITACHI model: HDS722525VLAT80
I would like to know if there it is possible to take another board form the same model
and make from the two a one working drive.
Besides, I would like to know what does MLC stands for and if there is any importance
to match these two number on the same PCB's I would likt to change.

Thank you guys!

A straight swap will not work, you will need to transfer NVRAM.

So I thought, this is the RAM for the ECC?
How do I find it on the PCB? How do I know what is it exactly?

Do you do DR for a living? If you do you should have the manuals that came with your tools and your answers are in them if you take the time to read and research what you need.

Yeah I guess this is some info the manufacturers are not giving away for free, and if you need
to learn this by yourself it should take "some time". I don't mind paying for this, but I would like to know
how do I get to that? whom do I nee to pay in order to get this info?

Deja vu. Everybody seems to say that. Personal usage usually means 20 drives plus neighbours, colleagues, etc. ....
AND : assuming you have the right info, would you write some C++ or x86 assembler code for interfacing directly to the drive , access internal stuff / repair etc. ?

C++ not for this moment, but I know C and assembler I will start learning soon (this is part
of my academic studies, whether I want it or not).

My part time job is PC Tech, so I שצ accessible to many drives that costumers do not want to
repair or recover, and for them this drive is just a box (when ever it has no warranty).
So as you can see I have plenty of drives to learn from.

Besides, this whole field is interesting me.

I already have a little knowledge but I want to expend this more.

Happy tinkering then... but start with easy drives. Deathstars... oops, Deskstar :D are not easier ones.

I can start with whatever I get my friend
But again I will ask: how and where can I get help with this?
even if I have to pay for that (Info to read or so)

just for understating: at this moment I'm not going to invest in the tools so I can open a DR
company, just want to knowledge.

Surf the net. Pros : free and you can do it whenever, wherever you want. Cons : contraddictory info and tons of bullshit.

If you want the quality, and then the quantity of quality, you have to pay. Much. It seems it's not the moment so don't hurry.

(Comes to mind Diana Ross & The supremes : "I remember Mama said you can't hurry love, no you just have to wait, she said love don't come easy...." )

Have a good day .
