Hello
I got a HDD

sn 9qm33cx2
pn 9gt154-325
firmware mx15
diamondmax 22
stm350032as
diamondmax 7200.11

It did not show in BIOS and i follwed the guides to do this through terminal. I used the SD Seagate HD Doctor.

First time I plugged it in i followed the unplug board gointo terminal, do a spin down, plac mb back onto hdd and spin up,
then i got the

Rst 0x10M
LED:000000CC FAddr:0025BF67
Ctrl + Z
F3 T>
LED:000000CC FAddr:0025BF67
your drive is bussy!

Second time round it came to that error after spin up. (Did not actaully say spin up time x.seconds)but physuically it spun up

Third time
after i spun up it saidelapsed time 26.8 seconds
R/W Status 2 R/W Error 84150180
F3 2>

and if i tried to clear the SMART it said 'overlay not loaded'
which means it did not the stuff of the hdd.

I searched about and the error is something todo that the drive thinks that it did not spin up so it cant load. But actually the drive is spinning up (spins ok if i do the PCB replace) but now if i turn it on without PCB trick (the drive spins up,goes ready and but spins down-but still wont show in bios)

The other thing is the smooth chip gets so extremely hot i cant touch the area around it after 1 minute - did not let it run more than that.
I listen carefully to the drive after it spins up, and it sound like the heads move out, and park again 4 times (very very silent though)

I was extra careful not to short anything out (although i did stupidly connect the serial interface upside down first time)
It did not heat up like this before i did anything. So obviously i think i balled something up anyway.

In Seagate HD doctor it laod the model number, serial number and firmware (does not load cert or any other stuff)

Have i killed this drive completetly or should i order an exact PCB and replace the rom over? Thanks guys

Much more likely to be bad heads TBH with that "DETSEC" error.

What were the PRECISE symptoms of the original fault?

Brought in with a PC. No operating system found- not found in bios.

I just tried the steps as above and nothing further.
Before doing anything the hard drive spun up normally, did not power down, and the smooth chip did not over heat.

Only difference is now that after doing what I did the hard drive goes ready, but spins down. I cant see why because i did not manage to change anything on the hdd.

When you issue the "U" command, do you actually hear the drive up and calibrate?

I double checked this. I pluggd it in, spins up.. but it does not actually sound like normal head movement.
Its a high pitched noise(but very soft, need to put ear tight next to drive) -does it 8 times and spins down - does not sound like normal head movement. Im not sure how proper calibration sounds like.

This is what i get now with pcb on - spin up- auto spin down - press U
