Since you don't care about the data, the best thing to do is get another -even used- hdd. Talking about an 80GB hdd, it means that you're actually not pressed for much free space, right? You therefore, I guess, can even come up with some giveaway at some local forum (or even try to get one yourself from some recycling company or pc repair store, etc), say in the range of 20 or even 40GB (they are practically worthless to them - I mean used ones that they keep in storage from upgrades/repairs)...That is if you can't afford not even $1 CAD, 'cause like 0A stated, a half a TB hdd is considerably cheap these days.
