Peltier cooler pads

Heya all. Some hard drives like to be imaged in a bit cooler enviroment. Some drives just run crazy hot. Now as an idea , does anyone using peltier cooling pads or smth like it to help image the drives?

1. Pelters consume massive amounts of power.
2. pelters perform spot cooling , a fan can provide air swap and all round cooling.
3. if a Peltier gets too cold, then say hello Mr frosty, with possible ice and frost on drive. (think winter time usage)
4. fans make a noise when they run and come with RPM sensors in a good one, so you know when it is working.
5. Pelters are VERY dependent on the ambient temp and temperature differential between the sides.
6. Pelters fail silently.
7. A Peltier needs a massive heat sink and forced cooling system (wow a fan to cool the Peltier, and a Peltier to cool the disk drive)
8. if the Peltier fan fails/stops or the heat sink thermal barrier is breached, where does all the heat from the current dumping Peltier go?
