Problem with WD 2500AAJS

June 29th, 2010, 8:55

Hello everyone,

I have WD 2500AAJS HDD model is WDC WD2500AAJS-98VWA0 and firmware is 12.01B02. Drive is always in SATA1 mode and i tried it on several other machines with different controllers (Intel ICH9R and ICH10R, AMD 790FX...), there is no jumper on drive (default position). Is there is any way to invoke SATA2? I've acquired 4 of these drives very cheap and i want to use them in RAID0 (gaming rig, safety of data is not required at all) other three drives (different model number and firmware) are working in SATA2 mode. All drives were checked with MHDD and there are no errors or slow sectors on them. All drives have good SMART tables except one I'm talking about here that has Ultra DMA CRC error (raw value is 00000000-0001). How to fix this, thank you?
