Hello,
I have an Hitachi drive that will not power up. I am fairly confident that the problem is in the PCB....5v current consumption is showing less than 70 mA. However, other ideas are always welcome. I have looked for a fried TVS but am apparently getting old and can hardly see anything on this card.
2 quick questions.....
1. Is there a TVS that I am missing due my failing eyesight?
2. Does this model need to have NVRAM swapped if I can find a suitable board?

Thanks for any help you all can provide....

I'm not sure as I don't have any of those in front of me, but I think those are the ones that doesn't have nv-ram.
Post a picture of the PCB please.

You are right, these are pre-hitachi and no NVRAM.

Well, confirming this option you can try to get a PCB for it, swap and check the results.

There is no NVRAM on this model.

At your risk....

First of all check the fuse at F1 (should show as shorted on multimeter), if its open then replace it or bridge it.

If that checks out OK, then get a PCB with the first two lines of the little white sticker on the PCB matching.
