Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Hi all,
I got an clicking hard drive (with seriously head crush) to recover.
After opening the drive bad scratches have been found on it.
Also the bottom head (that reads the bottom surface) is completely bent backwards scraping the surface.
See the picture:

(There are areas without scratches)
Many Thanks for any tip!

yes i see, that's where the SA is, so recovery is impossible.

It might be a stupied question, but is there any possible way to copy the data beyond that area or even that area is seriously damaged?
After all, as can be seen by the picture, there are ares without scratches.
Any idea?

Unrecoverable without 'black magic' and 2 - 300'000 dollars, with the data on the engraved sections still unrecoverable. So the verdict is : unrecoverable

Ok, I heared once that there is any meterial that I can put over the platters and give the head a command to skip that area.
Any one heared about that technique?

Even if this was possible if areas containing SA are bad and are skipped, data still cannot be reached.
I think I heard some BS about this, some 'magic hard drive' spray from salvation data?
Either way, I agree that this case is not possible.

Even if so - what will happen to the heads once it passes OVER that part of the platter that looks like a metal file? Instant death to head?

Instant death to head
You guessed right, they will die upon contact if not sooner.

If the case have really big importance, maybe i can do some black magic for a decent price.
