Hello,

We’ve a question about a WD4000AAKS, Royl Family.
The HDD initialize. It is detected. We can copy in reverse 30% and after there is IDNF error or not possible to read sector and not possible to copy the rest.

So, we have analyzed this HDD with HD Doctor. We can backup all modules Head 0 and Head 1. We can backup all tracks except 2 tracks (38 and 90) on head 0. We can backup all tracks on head 1.

The rom is ok. We can backup it. We’ve verified the ata module with an another donor and it’s exactly the same.
We can read the first sector but we can’t read the second sector => The hdd go to busy mode. There is no clicking sound.

We've tried to done "Translator regeneration" in HD Doctor but the problem is the same.

Have you experienced with this kind of issue ?

Thank you in advance for your answer.

He means Tornado series, within the Royl family.

And I think I know what he's getting at :-)

If the problem is related to servo marks, is the feature Rewrite Servo is safe for data or the data will be gone after use this feature ?
