Guys,

is there anyway to read the WD Info like Model/SN without opening the USB Case?

Am trying to backup resources in pc3k, but it doesn`t read the those info. and i have to enter it manually

btw, i tried vistoria for windows, it reads it as WD10EAVS only with the SN,
but what about the rest of the info

like wd10eavs-xxxx and so

thnx

I think without opening or accessing sa it is impossible, as it is impossible to discriminate at user level if you have let's say 6y080L0422611 or 422011 , it will be detected always by Victoria or Mhdd as 6y080L0. Unless there is the possibility to query somehow the extended id data.
