First of all, when you power your patient drive (with his own PCB), what happens?
Clicking noise? Spindle doesn't start? Click 3 times and stops spindle? Have you tried to read ROM in kernel mode?

If you have SD tool you can save a copy of your ROM.bin to file. You have to load not from file on this one but Manual Load. Select Manual load and this will insert a predefined download path to the program. Once this one is done then you can go to the ROM operation menu and save a copy of your ROM.

You are not too clear either on what you are saying on this one. The drive in your case can have three clicks spin up and spin down this can repeat 3 times then go to ready and the drive is not spinning at all.

If you find this problem let us know or what is the drive acutally doing. Just swaping PCB in your case will not work. If you decide to do a hot swap on the PCB you need to save the original ROM from your drive before proceeding on. I just explained to you how to do that one.
