A couple weeks back I installed a new power supply which seemed to have a stable 5V but the 12V rail would spike and then die on power up.
In the process this HDD died entirely. I suspected TVS diodes naturally, however having just today borrowed a tamper screw screwdriver and removed the PCB I've noticed that the 4th and 6th connections (from the right in the picture) seem to have burnt out. Could this be the only problem or should I assume that the spike would have busted TVS diode/s also?

Should I just try to bridge these power connections? I've already installed another 2TB drive, so my primary concern is recovering some of the data that I had not properly backed up.
