Fujitsu MHZ2250BH G2

December 30th, 2010, 7:19

Hi there,

I got a MHZ2250BH which has head 2 dead, at least when I assume correctly that LBA0 is on surface 0. Said in another way, it reads 190 megabytes fault free, accessing the next 95MB causing the drive to ERR, then 280MB ok alternating with 95MB bad.
Is there a way to disable head 2 without PC3000 - I'd like to image as much as possible before swapping heads.
Anything special about head swapping on this drive? As easy as Toshibas or as shitty as WD?

regards

I don't know any commercial tools for head map creation and imaging besides PC3K, SD and Atola.

You should check of course if your donor heads are compatible.

And Deepspar Disk Imager (DDI).

Easier : headswap. Less easier : do manually what DDI and company do automatically, only requires sa access, interpretation and some calculus. The best or worse - depending on p.o.v. - are N40p
