Can I change mechanical part of a disk to another PCB ?

I'm planning change the complete PCB of a damaged hdd from another HDD with the same model and runnign ok , to recover data on the failing HDD.

¿ It is posible ? ¿ Is service area in the same location ? could the new PCB read data from another disk exactly the same model integrated circuits and firmware?.

You've left a lot of variables out such as, drive brand and model which are two of the most important designations. There are drives where you can swap PCB's without a problem, but there aren't many, especially when talking about newer drives. My advise would be to do a little research on the type of drive you have, and then search through these forums for people who had similar problems.
