I bought this:

I tried it yesterday after a few months of inactivity, and I hear a noticeable ticking sound - I can only describe them as a 2 or 3 ticks whenever the drive is turned on. On the computer, I do not see it come up on My Computer or Disk Management utility.
I don't care about the drive so long as I can recover the data. I have had many hard drives fail in the past. I have managed to recover almost 100% of my data thanks to some great recovery tools out there. I'm not sure what to do with this one since it doesn't appear in disk management. I haven't tried ANYTHING with this. I have simply turned it off and kept it away from my computer so that data doesn't get overwritten or get manipulated.
I come here to get expert advice on my quest to first see what data was on it and then recover it if the data is worth the recovery.
