help me , how i can change of my hdd serial number (id) the hdd is one hitachi 60gb , pls help me to change the serial number .

It is easy to do with proper tools , but explain what for you need that ? May be your questions have another way to solve?

i need to change the sn for one soft .. the soft is registered don't start only with one serial number , i know this sn , the hdd is one toshiba .. and my hdd is same .. toshiba
i remowed the eprom from hdd and readed the eprom .. and i don-t know how is locate the serial number
the eprom ic is 93c56
reded with willem eprom programmer

i readed in two metod on 8 bit and in the 16 bit mode this eprom , i don-t know what is ok
the eprom files

i writed the model wrong .. the model is hitachi travelstar , pn- 08k0634 , sn -k3g6bbbk

Hi

No...What you have read in the programmer is the NV-RAM which has nothing to do with serial number...The serial number is stored somewhere on the platters in some modules..Not so easy to modify without proper tools.

So you will need to find someone who have the right tools to do it.

Based on my experience on this issue i can tel you that most protection goes for the partition Vol. SN.
not hdd SN

Actually, SN is stored in NV-RAM as well as in service area on disk surface.

On ATMR series?...I did't see it...Anyway from his point of view it's useless...He does not have the tools to modify NV-RAM/checksum or SA modules.

No, you're right, not on ATMR series but I didn't notice that was the case here.
