disconnect the PCB from the HDD, and use the connect the PCB only, power on and post the log here

did u try isolating the motor method with ur result log u provided? or how

explain what you did here in details.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isolating the PCB is for the LED error, not the 0 capacity error. Also, I don't think that you'll get much of a log with the PCB by itself.

Offhand, I'd suspect a bad or weak head, and would try a heads test straight away.

jono-ats I Agree with you on this which might be bad heads, but i had such similar case and tried the Isolating method and worked with me, this was with 1TB Max-SG hdd.

AM using the SD-SG with Seagate most of the time, and most of the time again, problems are solved with the terminal most of the features of SD-SG are not used.

let`s wait for his reply on this and see.
thnx man

hi all
thank you for the answers and replies so far.
to answer some of the questions, tool used is pc3000, Atola

to resolve the bsy issue i used the pc3000, this repaired the issue of the drive being bsy
once the drive was restarted the drive showed 0mb, here i tried the solution from pc3000 ehihc has worked on many many occassions but failed on ths one.

i have not tried removng the bosrd to test with the board isolated. i did think about manye a weak head but heads test with pc3000 shows to be ok
i started suspecting mabye a issue with pcb so i am thinking of swapping pcb to test and see what results i get here.

so far this is where i am up to on it.

i have been advised that this is not a recoverable error currently and to mabye try in the future, but i really want to try and work out what is happening with this drive.

thank you
