I get this message and windows quits. I have tried the F8 command and cannot get in. I have tried a cd but it will not boot from it. I have remove the hard drive and used an enclosure to transfer all the info to another hard drive then reinstalled the hard drive. Can you help me get this up and running again my daughter uses this computer for her school.

You haven't given much context & background info leading up to this situation, so it's difficult to help you. :(

Yes, Windows Stop code 0xc000021a can have multiple underlying causes.

Windows support is off-topic for this board. I know that may not be what you want to hear, but it's best that you have realistic expectations.

You haven't said what CD you were trying to boot from, and whether it was known to be bootable (not all CDs are bootable) - but in any case, not booting from the CD cannot be due to a hard disk fault, so you'll need to find out what else with your system is causing you not to be able to boot from CD.

Provided you have successfully copied the data off the original hard disk and it is now safe, then that is the end of any hard disk concerns, isn't it? If you have hard disk problems, please explain them clearly and in detail.

Unless you have a problem with a hard disk, then your request is off-topic for this board (unless a member volunteers to help you privately via PM). If you're looking for general computer or Windows support, you may want to ask friends/relatives for recommended local support providers close to you. Good luck!

Check your BIOS and see what your boot order is. Boot from CD as first option on this one. Then try again your Windows install disk in your system. Note you will more than likely have to have a MB driver CD in order to complete this one fully.

If you have all data off this HDD that one is good news you could still read the data on your HDD.

If you still have some problems with this HDD and can not get it to reinstall windows on it you might want to go out and buy a new one for you to use.

To enter into your BIOS look at the post sometime it is Del, F1 or F2 to press to get to the BIOS on your system. Once inside you will see your boot order in this one go to this panel. You can see what is your boot priority on this one. Make sure your boot priority is CD first then HDD second. This one should force your CD to read before your HDD on this one.
