I dropped my hard drive from a height of 1 foot and now is not recognized by the operating system, nor the bios. It does not sound strange, it sounds normal, but not recognized . I am not willing to pay the amount of money the recovery companies ask. I'm interested in making a recovery of my data, and do not know where to start. I do not know what I should do with the disc. I am willing to buy an identical disk, and the tools to recover data but I need somebody to recommend me how to do this procedure, does not want to lose data. Maybe if I buy an identical disk and change the head will work. But I don't find any tools to change the head specifically for this wd10eavs-00d7b1. What do you recommend?

A clean bench (2000 to 3500 usd) , some tooling (100 usd) then a Hw image tool that will eventually deal with probable media problems (3000 to 5000 usd on model) , donor drive/s (about 150 usd), eventually a PC3000 in case of fw intervention (10000 usd) and KNOW HOW (priceless).
VISA, MasterCard and Amex can buy all the items above except the last one.
Seriously, you should get pro help or if not feasible, send out the drive...
