Imaging Drives that doesn't support LBA

Hi (old) GURUs,

For forensic purpose, I have to image some drives that doesn't support LBA mode.
Do you have some advices/software that could do it.

Hi - I would like to get some facts about the real situation to avoid wasting time, as I think your issue might not be as it appears....

(a) Which drive model(s) are you currently referring to?

(b) How have you decided that LBA mode is not supported by these drives? I guess by using MHDD or similar, but I don't want to guess wrongly

(c) Are you sure that these drives are in normal working condition, and that your only challenge is to image them? If so, then how exactly have you tested the drives, to decide that they are in normal working condition?

Second, i already had an answer by PM wich seems to be OK but that i'm actualy not using. Since it was sent to me by PM, i will not write it here.

To answer your questions :
a) multiples models : fujitsu and Seagate drives,
b) yes using mhh,
c) yes for at least 2 of them, i'm sure they are working since i can copy some sectors.

If somebody has the same problem, i'm using HDDUP (from copyrsoft.com) in PIO mode but i have to set the size of the drive manually.

These old drives require manual setup and often they require special controllers because they are not ATA compliant, also you would need old computer with ISA bus for those controllers
There is no way to autodetect CHS config, you just need to know it for every drive

In my cases, they are... Otherwise, Drive ID gives the information !
