hitachi hard drive hts542525k9sa00 issues and problem.

I have this HDD as a external HD and recently it stopped spinning. I checked in device manager and it say that there is a mass storage device. In Disk Managment I get a listing saying disk 3 unkown. Any way I can get this HDD to work again at least for 30 mins?

What makes you think it is not spinning?

I do not hear nor feel it spin.

The only way to get your data is to run more tests on the drive itself. But that would imply removing the drive from the enclosure, which will void the warranty if still under.

There was no warranty on the drive since I bought it second hand ion other country, about a year ago. I did pull the drive out of the enclosure, to check on it when it stopped working.

There should be a fuse and TVS diode near the SATA power connector. Measure their resistances with a multimeter set to the 200 ohms range. Upload a detailed photo if you need more help.
