With a single UNC error - is the drive toast? Or can MHDD do a repair. Drive is not important, but nice to keep this old machine running till a new one can be purchased.

You can make that sector unusable and use the drive.

If the UNC sector is marked as pending reallocation, then just use a disc editor to write to that sector. The drive will then retest that sector and return it to service if good, or replace it with a spare if bad.
