WD Marvell modules CRC

August 10th, 2011, 16:14

In older WDC-based drives the SA modules used simple 8-bit checksums; however, the newer Marvells use CRC-32 which can use different algorithms and parameters. Do you know which one is used in Marvell modules? I.e. how can one calculate the CRC on his own - e.g. when fixing a corrupt module?

Thanks! 8)
