How to diagnose this USB interface hard disk?

August 12th, 2011, 3:55

Hye,

I have a Samsung external hard disk which is not detected by BIOS and computer. Usually I will diagnose a problem hard disk by using PC3000 but this hard disk is not using either PATA or SATA interface. It is directly connected to USB (refer to the attachment).

Manufacturer: Samsung
Model: HM502JX
Size: 500GB

So if you have this kind of hard disk, how do you guys diagnose and recover it?

Thank you.

The new version of PC3K/DE just released has the following:

Samsung USB

Posibility to work via termianl with Trinity architecture drives (3,5" F1_3D and newer ones, 2,5" M7S2 and newer ones) has been added;
We have eliminated the "hanging" problem of some tests when it was impossible to close utility if techno key sending error appeared;
BURN running algorithms have been corrected taking into account the specifics of M7S2 and F3 families;
All tests from PC-3000 kernel have been added.
