Every time I try to load my external hard drive my computer freezes. I can't right click on it without it freezing. Even having it plugging into my computer seems to slow my computer down. Does anybody have any ideas as to what the issue could be?

It could be that your drive is failing due to bad sectors or else heads getting weak.
Have you tried on another PC to check if it's the same issue?
