i got chance to buy it for $2,000 plus delivery cost
the person is getting out of the data recovery business
.
the following i would like to know
can this machine handle hard drives that have got corrupt firmware or not seen in windows also clicking drives.
also what new improvements have they made with this unit up to now.
type of new features etc
do you think its a good price for this item
and how can i get the new ownership of it to myself.

This is the best investment you will make... My has paid its self 10 times over... The only issue is it does not have usb adapter to image usb drives...

It's an excellent product, but its "only" an imager.
It will not fix fw issues etc...
You need something else for that (e.g. Pc3000, salvation)

I guess you would have to ask DeepSpar

I'm looking to get one to free up my PC3K, decided on definitely going ahead with it but it's a lot of $$$. A certain forum member is on my case until I get one, so it looks like I'll have no choice

as far as I am aware Deepspar will not transfer ownership of any of the products. So what ever firmware you have on the device when you get it will mostly likely be the last one. So i would get the person you are buying it from to update it to the latest firmware before selling it to you. I think 3.20 is the latest. Also make sure he send you the manuals since you will not be able to get them from the FTP.
The machine is only good for imaging, but it is the best imager out there. Lots of imaging options

I just talked to Sergei from Deepspar. The original owner has to email em and tell em that he sold the unit to you. And they will transfer the ownership.
Deepspar is amazing , but it IS an imager. About working on clicking drives - well, no and yes. Iv seen drives where the head is ok reading the SA but refuses to read the user area and starts clicking. In that event u can build the head map in DDI , uncheck the wonky head and image the remaining. So You see, u CAN work with clicking drives =))) Although in very specific situations =)

Hi
On a bit of different question I note everyone talks highly of the ddi which I am sure is a great tool
Personally we have equipped ourselves with multiple pc3000 as we are able to do the repair and imaging from the one unit at the one time.
While we have been thinking about obtaining a ddi unit we are unsure as it feels like a waste if the pc3000 does it all
So my question is, Is there a benefit to us having a ddi unit added to our tools if it is going to be used as an imager or will it offer us something the pc3000 does not have?
I understand I will get an imaging tool that will enable the pc3000 to be free but any other benefits ?
Thank you

If I were NOT in North America, then I'd probably just PC3k+DE only as crecomp ., but here, you are choosing between 2 PC3kDE or 1 PC3kDE+4 DDI's.
Each company is different, but in my case, I would benefit having a dozen of them!

Other than flexibility and efficiency in contrast with the PC3K equipment (or lack of) in place, DDI in conjunction with Deepspar Operations Server provides an improvement in terms of business solutions.

The flexibility of DDI is above and beyond anything else out there on the market. It is a MUST have. However, I have had drives that no matter what algorithm I use, or what parameters I set, they just don't image well in DDI. Some cases actually image better in Media Tools. It doesn't happen often, but 3 or 4 times a year I'll get a drive in that is just going to take decades to image in DDI, or almost not at all, but they image just fine in Media Tools. So I guess just have other options for when you run into weird cases, because you may find other solutions work better.

I had a drive yesterday. WD1600JD - XXXXXX ( dont remember stats exactly ) 4 heads. Top head tested bad in PC3K. SA structure test showed problems with some adaptive data modules as well as with translator. Did not give me sector access in universal utility. Built a head map , disabled top head managed to get access to sectors underneath the other heads in DE. Turned top head again - hey top head gave sector access too... Decided to image it in PC3K. It went on but slow as hell... Decided to try it on DDI. Imaged all on default parameters and a lot faster.
PC3K is a must have utility for diagnostics and SA work. But as an imager IMO DDI is faster/better. However i remember there was a case where i had to swap the heads on a 1.8 inch ZIF Toshiba. DDI did not recognize the drive, but PC3K did and imaged it without any problems... So got to have both =)))
