Fujitsu MJA2160BH

October 18th, 2011, 1:20

Hi to all
i am having an issue with a fujitsu mja2160bh drive,
connected to pc 3000 drive will spin up at power on and will become ready, no unusual noises.
however as soon as the utility is selected for fujitsu the drive becomes bsy and nothing else.
this drive is not supported by pc3000 utility i was hoping to try and image the drive if possible

thank you in advance

Thank you for the answers.
I had a very similar board in stock same model but different firmware, Upon placing the donor board to the patient drive, the patient drive will spin up, become ready, not id(incorrect rom) and become ready, but when i launch the utility the drive will at least not get bsy and remains ready.
This led me to think it is just going to be a rom issue now.
however placing the patient pcb on the donor drive behaves exactly as the above board swap did from donor to patient.

Unortunately there is no rom chip on this drive so moving the rom chip is going to be a big job

Any thoughts on this ?

thank you
