I have WD5000AADS-00S9B0 and it's PCB has been burned due to power surge, how can i match the donor HDD for my WD
( in case replace the PCB only and also in case of replace the Head or platters only )

My Model : WD5000AADS-00S9B0
My DCM : DCM: HBNNHT2AHN
MY PCB STICKER : 2061-771640-Q03 01P XC BP02 3Z85 K 0001130 1131
MY PCB : 2060-771640-003 REV P1

So how can i match the donor HDD that can work for PCB or HEAD & Platters swap?

Not sure why you would want to 'platter swap'?

If it was a surge you might be lucky enough the the problem is only the TVS protection diode. Do some research on this forum about TVS before you go any further.

If you go ahead and make a search on this forum for TVS, it will return a hundred results which will answer all your question.
In a flash, a TVS is a diode.

Searching this forum for "TVS" will find absolutely nothing.

Instead, here is the information in a nutshell:
http://www.users.on.net/~fzabkar/HDD/TVS_diode_FAQ.html

Lots of photos of TVS diodes here:
http://www.users.on.net/~fzabkar/HDD/

That said, a surge often damages the motor controller chip, in which case your most expedient solution would be a board swap and firmware transfer. If location U12 is vacant, then a firmware transfer is not a simple DIY proposition. However, some board suppliers include this service for US$10 - $20.

You can indeed search the forum.hddguru.com site for TVS and get lots of relevant terms, but not by using the built-in search function.

Do a google search for the following:

tvs site:forum.hddguru.com

I was able to fix the issue with the search. It was related to the mysql settings. In the future, please PM me about this kind of issues.

@northwind:

Before Dmitry changed the MySQL settings (thanks Dmitry :) ), your search would have ignored "TVS" (due to being only 3 letters) and just given results for the word "diode".

I hope that helps to explain what you saw :)

I apologise. I should have checked again. Thanks.
