I suggest you use whatever management s/w you have for that RAID, to see what problem is
really being reported with that drive. That message often means there is a SMART failure.

I wouldn't spend any time trying to find new firmware, based on the reported symptom, which could be a waste of your (and our) time. IMHO finding the
real problem will be much more efficient.

Investigate the error message...
