Was using the drive fine all day, then when I came to boot up my PC, found out the drive doesn't work at all, isn't even recognised by the BIOS or spinning up, however, the drive does still get warm on the PCB, but apart from that it does nothing.
I read somewhere that ripping the 12V TVS Diode off the PCB will make it work again, but I don't think it will and I'd rather find a better solution to this, I have a feeling saying it's the PCB, although I can't take it apart, but I can't see any obvious damage to it.

You can swap out pcb boards but you need to move over ROM and or adaptives on this one. In UK there is PCimage I would contact him this right now can be a simple fix if you do not go to playing around with this one. If it is only the PCB should not be that much for PCimage to do this one for you. Contact him and save some time and money to buy all the parts yourself. By the time you are done normally equals more than he wuold of charged you in the first place to do this one for you. He is pro and has all tools to do this work and can do it without errors where you will make tons of errors and come here asking us over and over again what you did wrong and we will answer again and again the same and you will ask again your question. So you see in the end this simple problem grows to a ton of money and a lot of wasted time. I would go with PCimage if I were you on this one. But then on the other hand Franc will try and suggest a DIY way to do this one for you. so if you like search on him and TVS and you will find out all of his answers. Then you can choose your way and what you want to do.

It sounds like your board is getting power, but it could be that one of the resistors is open circuit.

If all components are OK, then your most expedient solution would be to replace the board. You would then need to reprogram the memory inside the Marvell MCU chip (88i6745-TFJ1). This is a simple job. All you need is an appropriate diagnostic tool, eg WD HD Pro (US$80):
