hello, i have a 160GB SATA ST3160318AS FIRMWARE:HP11 disk drive which does not seen in bios.
i get these terminal codes

Rst 0x08M ctrl-Z

F3 2>Z

i waited a while but last code repeats. what can i do, is it possible to recover data?

is there any terminal commands to diagnose my issue?

btw, i can not go to a disk pro. because of financial problems
and tomorrow is sunday

But your already "mucking" around in the terminal so your chances of doing anything "wrong' are close to 100% a very dangerous place to "play" if you don't know the commands and what they do. The symptom looks a lot like bad heads which would not be DIY. It also could be firmware corruption again no pro tools no DIY. wish I had better news to share if you have any backups I suggest another drive and a restore

Have to agree with BlackST and Networks...
One wrong move and cost of recovery will triple...

hi again,

last week i send the disk to a pro (whom i previously know and recovered for a cost), and waited to hear from him for 3 days. unfortunately he said that he is unable to recover data from that disk. as he said the disc surface is unreadable. i took the disk back. see that he did not open disc. asked him what to do next, he answered to send disc to seagete, may be they can recover for a cost of approximately min. 3000-4000euros.
are you agree?

note: the disc isn't mine. and i don't know if the owner send the disc to recovery before giving to me. if so is it possible to take data from it and make it unreadable and delete?

I think you should hand the drive to a trusted pro who will perform accurate diagnostics (instead of "surface unreadable") and quote you for recovery.
$3000-$4000 is a bit steep in my opinion.
Contact PCImage he will diagnose drive and quote for recovery. I am almost sure the final cost will be a portion of the one mentioned.
