Hitachi HDT721010SLA360 Connector/PCB? Issue

Hello guys, been reviewing your post's on here for a while and i'm looking for some good insight.
I'm curious to know if I can do this myself my replacing the PCB or if I should do something else....?

Now the problem is with the power connectors; they are fried, from an unknown cause. (ill attach an image)

Now my question is....Should I just look for an exact match for the PCB and just replace?

Your board has sustained an overvoltage on the +5V input. The first thing you need to do is to check your power supply.

The easiest and cheapest DIY solution would probably be to remove the 5V TVS diode (it will be shorted). It is located just above the damaged pins. Snip its pins with flush cutters.

Then hardwire a 4-pin Molex power connector to the drive's +12V, +5V and Ground pins.

Be aware that removing a TVS diode also removes the overvoltage protection on its associated supply, so make sure your PSU is good.

Thanks! That sounds easy enough, any other reccomendations? Would replacing the PCB fix all the issues?

AIUI, Hitachi HDDs store unique, drive specific information on the PCB. This information needs to be transferred to your replacement PCB. In your case there is an 8-pin IC below the EtronTech SDRAM.

You have special adaptives on this and need to take this into consideration. You should use the proper tools to move over adaptives to make sure you get back your data. Also with a burn like this one becasue becasue you could of done some internal damage to this drive and might have some preamp problems. Before moving forward just test your pcb to make sure hdd spins up it will not read your data becasue of the adaptives stored in the pcb on this one.
