My External HDD partitions are not opening

Hi Every One

I have an external HDD, Which has 4 partitions, One day When i connect the hdd to my computer

it prompt for format option for all the drives. I am using Windows 7, I recovered one partition using

Chkdsk PartitionLable:/r in dos. The other partition got recovered when i connect that to windows xp

OS. Two of the partitions are still prompting for format before use. How can i Recover the data

with out formating the partition or any other solution like chkdsk

Please help regarding this matter.

Clone the hdd to be sure
use testdisk.
