I was wondering how to find NVRAM on a PCB (In general, not on a specific case)

Are there any obvious signs which indicate which chip (if any) is the NVAM? :?:

Thanks in advance,
DR

You'll find examples of the part numbers in previous postings from fzabkar

The term "NVRAM" is used by Hitachi for its Microwire Serial EEPROMs, eg 93Cxx. Serial SPI flash memories have part numbers that usually contain "25".

Both devices are in fact NonVolatile memories. Unfortunately terms such as NVRAM and ROM have taken on their own meanings (aka misnomers) when applied to HDDs.

See http://www.users.on.net/~fzabkar/HDD/HD ... Flash.html
