Hello Everyone,

Old PCB burned and was lost. drive is OK.
need PCB as a match (no ability to re-chip as no longer have the PCB)
Drive is WD 320GB WD3200KS Caviar SE16, was manufactured in Thailand, dates 27 Mar 2006, DCM HSBHCAJCH.
PCB as far as I gathered from online searches is 2061-701393-800 AA // 2060-701393-002 REV B

anyone please? I am willing to either pay for a match product / just pcb or either give in return 1TB HDD (Sealed)

TY

This will be very tricky, there is no way to tell from the drives label what EXACT ROM version is required on the PCB to match the firmware on the drives platters.

Without the original PCB (and hence ROM) it's gonna be a PITA for a pro, never mind a DIY without any FW tools :(

You can try to get a PCB from a drive of the exact same model and date but that's gonna be nigh on impossible and even then not guaranteed to work.

Hi! Thanks for the reply.
As I dont have the PCB at hand my options are very limited. From googling around I've managed to find exact match of DCM on the same HDD model, so assuming its PCB is identical to my PCB - it would be the abovementioned version (2060-701393-002) However, I am unsure if you are referring to the U12 EEPROM's version, in which case I'll have to switch ROMS?

Oh my... ;/

This is from the Raider family, and it's not all that common.

IIRC, there are some head map matching issues as well as your firmware "challenge."

About 1/2 of these we get in have some bad heads, too.

If you get in a bind, we'll offer to look at it. (I'll probably regret this!)

Jono
