G'day, having issues accessing anything on this drive. Tried
MHDD - the very first block is reported as UNC, then scanning continues and a few more UNCs until something LBA 131K. At that spot scanning halts indefinitely and the drive goes into perm
BUSY state: RESET/RECALL (init) has no effect. The only thing that helps is cycling power to the drive. Scanning with the "remap" option enabled causes the same outcome (won't even make it through the first block, goes perm BUSY). Tried the seek test (CX): seeks (audible) for about 30 secs, while reporting stats, but fails in the end spewing an error. Tried the "FF" option to overwrite the UNCs up until the problematic LBA - reported success and seems to return, but drive stays in perm BUSY. Can hardly boot a live linux system - throws tons of DRDY ERR-s (READ DMA err) and almost never returns (throws them in an endless loop, can get a command through every half a minute or so). Details below.
