External ADATA disk corrupted

February 28th, 2012, 12:57

Friends,

Six months ago, while I was extracting some archive files to my external USB ADATA disk (Nobility NH01 USB3), the disk suddenly became inaccessible. I managed to recover most of my data through Knoppix (though because of the lack of time, it took me 6 months or so to do it). Today I wanted to copy the last remaining files from the disk (again using Knoppix) and format it, but the disk stalled and became inaccessible.

Now, even in Knoppix I cannot see the disk. Windows XP recognizes the disk, but it says that its capacity is zero and the filesystem is RAW. Please see the screenshots.

I don't care about the data. I just want to make the disc work again. I tried low level format tool, but the application doesn't see the disk.

Six months ago, I used PC Inspector File Recovery Tool. Although it didn't help, during the scan the following message appeared:

drv:129 LBA:0 blocks:1

Is there anything I can do?

Please help.

Thank you very much
